The Legend of the Honey Badger.
Once upon a time, Tutu the Monkey King declared there would be a contest between all the creatures of Africa. This battle of strength and wits was to determine who would have the rights to all the honey in the land. Now, Honey Badger really liked honey .. as you might imagine! And couldn’t fathom the notion of living without it. More than that, Honey Badger knew that all the other creatures in Africa also wanted that honey.
Sweeeeeeeeeet, sticky honey … yum!
Speed wasn’t to his name. At least, not when pitched against the swiftness of a cheetah. Knowing his strength couldn’t possibly match that of the mighty lion, Simba, and that his agility wasn’t so dexterous as the nimble-fingered, yet beastly baboons – he set about his business to ensure the honey would be his, in the only way he knew how.
In the dark of the night, when the plains were silent and still, Honey Badger raided the most feared bees nest and stole away like the thief he was, honey dripping in his paws, to hide among the ant hills.
Each night that followed, Honey Badger navigated the demon dangers of the Dark Continent to drizzle a little of the stolen, golden elixir over each of his opponent creatures. As dawn broke, the fragrant scent of honey was all it took to raise the inner savage of each competitor. Blinded by honey fever, they one-by-one, fangs flashing, shredded each other to the bone.
Tutu the Monkey King, on surveying this dismal scene, declared Honey Badger the outright victor. His cunning, stealth and fearless approach are to this day, something to be reckoned with!
